In addition to your affiliate programs, you should also have a way to let people donate toward the cost of running your website. I was skeptical of the donate buttons at first, but people have been saying that they are able to get donations. Paypal is the most popular company used. It is free to join and Paypal will take a portion of whatever donations you receive as payment for their services. You must have at least a Premier or Business account. The instructions for making a button are below. You can use the same button on any website that you own. You should include some words above your button to tell people what the donations are being used for.
1.) To make a button, join Paypal and log into your Premier or Business account.
2.) Click on the MERCHANT SERVICES tab.
3.) Under CREATE BUTTONS, click on DONATE.
4.) You can leave the ORGANIZATION/SERVICE field empty if you are not a business, and you can leave the DONATION ID field blank if you don’t want that option. Answer the rest of the questions as to how you want to set up your button.
5.) Click on CREATE BUTTON.
6.) Cut and paste the HTML code into your webpage.
